from beginning to end does the soap in the crockpot have to be a certain temperature? What heat setting doe s the crockpot have to be when u start the crockpot. does fragrance hold up better in hp process rather than cp process?
don’t use drain cleaner, use lye only. drain cleaner has metal in it.
Thank you. This helped me a lot. I wish I had watched it before cooking my very 1st batch today. I didn’t use a crock pot. I wish I had seen what the finished consistency is supposed to look like beforehand. Mine looked kind of like fudge before you pour it when I put it on the mold. I used tallow and lard, and added a bit of honey and oatmeal at trace.. Maybe that’s why? Sure hope it will harden up and be actual bars of soap

Looks dangerous for beginners like myself.haha.I’m confused. I thought you don’t apply heat when mixing?Lye 75 degrees and oils 85 degrees right?Why didn’t you test temp?I thought that if it doesn’t become thick and grease layer on top its to warm?So you would keep stirring right?

the crock pot stays the same temp, and can accurately stay at lower temps. because stove tops usually fluctuate, the crock pot is also portable so if you need to you can do it outside or something

why the crock pot?
coudlnt you just use a regular huge pot on the stove?
or an oven?
