Crock Pots For International Cooking

International cooking usually leaves you slaving over a hot stove or running for the phone book to search for the closest take out place. But with a crock pot and a couple of simplified recipes, you can cook to your heart's content for a taste that's a world away.

No amount of reading and re-reading the instructions for Kung Pow Chicken in your International Foods cook book is going to prepare you for what's in store, especially if you've never attempted Kung Pow Chicken or any other type of Asian or other international dish. The same goes for all different types of international foods. You have to get used to using different types of seasonings like cumin, coriander and for many dishes, kosher sea salt-you'll probably be wondering "whatinthewhonow" does that mean?

Especially if you are a beginning cook-and many times, even if you're not-you need to choose cooking options that are within your grasp. But that doesn't mean you're stuck with Mac & Cheese or grilled cheese sandwiches-you know that's what you're cooking, don't lie. You simply have to be more innovative about "how" you cook your foods.

Every cook should have a large brigade of cooking utensils and cooking appliances. Amongst this army of cookware you should always be able to easily locate a well maintained crock pot. Crock pot cooking is one of the easiest ways to get around the difficult recipes you'll find in cook books. Not only are crock pot recipes simplified for the crock pot way of life, but they are also easily accessible in crock pot recipe books and all over the internet-there are hundreds of web sites dedicated to crock pot recipes and crock pot cooking and your favorite search engine can open the doors to crock pot recipe bliss if you let it.

Crock pot cooking is known for having hundreds of easy crock pot beef recipes and crock pot pork recipes, many of which are international dishes that could be cooked over the stove, slaved over even...but don't have to be. You can even make delicious crock pot pasta recipes that you'd expect to find only at an Italian restaurant. And it doesn't end there. Crock pot dessert recipes also mimic the hard-to-make in the oven or over the stove top recipes that come from the pros at French restaurants all over the world.

Never forget that the basic principle of crock pot cooking is to make food that tastes as if it were professionally prepared and tastes as if you spent hours preparing it. The fact that you threw the ingredients in the crock pot, turned it to high and walked away for five hours is always supposed to be your little secret.

Not to mention the leftovers. If you're a fan of ordering in from a great take-out place with your favorite international dishes, then you'll love cooking for yourself at home with easy crock pot recipes. Not only will you save money making the exact same dish, but you'll be able to keep tons of leftovers that you can even freeze for a later date. And you'll be able to choose exactly what is and what isn't in your food. You can't beat that.

Question by Damiana: Slow cookers/Crock pots?
Are they more energy efficent than stovetops or ovens?

Best answer:

Answer by Momof3
I'm not sure about energy efficient, but they definitely don't heat the house up as much as the other two, and less work. (I use mine ALOT). Less heat is important, depending on where you live (I'm in Texas, so less heat is crucial in the summer!)

There is no difference. Crock Pot started out as a brand name of slow cookers- kind of like how we call all facial tissue Kleenex.

Fast and Easy - How to simplify your busy life clay pots

Imagine coming home from work with the tempting aroma of dinner, ready to dish out, hot and delicious. For a busy working mother, whether corporate or single living alone, a dream that seems unlikely, unless you can afford your own chef. But it is not unattainable. All you need is a handy-dandy little device that will simplify your life and you dishing your dinner before you even take your shoes well.

are an old stand-by in the 70s, and are making a big return. clay pots, also known as slow cookers are one of the most useful for working a busy woman - or man, for that matter. With a clay pot, you can spend ten minutes of preparation time before leaving for work in the morning, flip it, and go home at night to a fully cooked food - nutritious, delicious and much less expensive to transport.

I grew up in a clay pot at home, but was seldom used. My grandmother was at home full time, and was much more common to cook it slowly on the stove. When I moved out on my own, the delicious slow simmer, which were a staple of my diet was out of reach. I had no time to stay home and stir the pot. I turned to prepared foods and microwave, but I missed the wonderful food that I grew up with - coq au vin slow boil spaghetti sauce, beef stew, chicken and baked beans. />
That all changed when I discovered a recipe for "mother hen Busy Day" in a bid to cookbook, of all places, LLL. The recipe was very simple - you just have to cut the chicken in a clay pot, add two cans of tomatoes and onions cooked, and turn the clay pot down, then walk six to eight hours. I was skeptical, but I tried - and the results quickly became a family favorite. The chicken was tender enough to fall off the bone and flavored with whole spices and tomato sauce. The sauce is thick and perfect for spooning over rice or pasta, and best of all, is nutritious and healthy.

Why clay pot to cook big

1. You can not on the boat.
say a pot ever seen - or even a crock. When you adjust the temperature of the crock to low, you can be sure that the food is cooked at a temperature low enough to avoid overcooking and high enough to prevent formation of harmful bacteria.

2.The minutes in the morning makes a homemade meal in the evening.
The preparation time cooking Crock Pot is almost none. Stop using ingredients, add to pan, cover and leave. The more elaborate recipes may require you to cut things or even layer ingredients in a certain order, but all you need is a few minutes in the morning, and you come home to a home cooked meal at the end of the day.

3.Cleanup is quick and easy!
ship pots used to be a real pain to clean, but not anymore. olla pots now feature removable liners to wash the vase is as simple as washing a dish. Just lift the board and washing. You can even put more on the machine. Moreover, the slow cooking means a damn thing waist crisp.

One of the disadvantages of crockpot cooking used to be in excess. Simmer the meat too long, and ended up with nasty porridge. olla pots now use timers to turn the clay pot when the time is, or lower the temperature when necessary.

5.Slow stoves are energy efficient.
What? You thought out of your slow cooker and cook on every day was a waste of energy? Think again. The clay pot used to cook food without losing heat enveloping the whole boiling heat in an oven or stove. In fact, consume less energy.

If you have a slow cooker hidden somewhere, out of there and try it. 'll Find dozens of recipes that break the traditional "heavy" meals syndrome that gave the pot pot a bad name. evidence of a few, and you'll be upgrading to a new family model to treat your family to wonderful meals, tasty, homemade, almost effortlessly.
