How is the lid on my new crock pot suppose to fit? Is there suppose to be a gap between the lid and the top of the pot?

I have one of these crock pots also, and there is a slight gap between the sides of the pot and the lid. The lid sits on the "inside" rim and sometimes this can cause an issue as moisture gets in there often because it's not sealed tightly.
